Mission Statement

Hello, my name is Brad Alsop and I've had a wonderful life living in America for 37 years. It has always amazed me that people will jump at the chance to take on the world's most dangerous jobs defending our freedom in places many of us would not want to spend a day, much less an extended period of time. I decided to give something back to these men and women by setting a goal to run the distance of a marathon everyday from the 4th of July to Veterans Day, November 11, 2007.

It was an extreme effort to benefit the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund and a true test of will, endurance, and honor. For 131 days each marathon was completed and an update of that day's events was written and posted each night. Some of the writings are timeless, some are dated, and all were inspired by running to remember injured Marines. Feel free to read the short stories from beginning to end and meet the characters I met along the way. I'm so thankful for the public's generosity in supporting this event. We were able to raise 18,000 dollars and 100% of the proceeds go to benefit the IMSFF. My hope is that you too can donate in support of Operation Run 131 and the marathons can live on. This mission is complete, but the need for help will never end.
